my story

I have over fifteen years of experience designing for single and multifamily builders. I began my career in architecture, but soon realized my true passion for interior spaces. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design, I gained experience as a project manager for two of the country’s most reputable multifamily design firms, moving on to own a successful single family design firm, designing model homes for national builders across the country.

I am so blessed to have my dream job as a Principal Designer & Executive Creative Director at a commercial interior design firm in Texas, MP STUDIO. Designing apartment buildings - all the amenity spaces, including leasing offices, lobbies, corridors, club-rooms and even apartment unit finishes is the most amazing job. The other half of my career consists of designing model homes for large, national builders. Every day I get to experience all facets of design, with few boundaries. It truly is a dream career.

The name designer-skj is taken from my Instagram handle, as most of you will probably find me through that avenue. I am a wife, mother, designer, and everything in between.
